A woman's project: 68 Fastback

Thanks, we got a few more things done today:
40 year old tree growing in the cowl..
After some vacuuming, Ford's rustproofing at its finest; actually it wasn't as bad as we were expecting! We may be able to get away with replacing each end, the middle seems solid but we'll decide after blasting.
Aaron grinding down the welds. (Forgive his outfit- it was 92 here today!)
Mostly finished out back.

Over the last few days we put on the other side stripe, installed the FatMat on the roof along with new insulation and Scott Drake headliner and visors. We also started on the wiring and Aaron insisted we put on the tail light panel emblem. I told him if he keeps this up we're going to run out of "fun" things to do when the frustrating parts kick in!

So, maybe I missed it back in the whole body stripping/dis-assembly part of the build, but how did you go about cleaning/repainting the trunk lid spring and door hinges? The door hinges can just be pulled off and redone, but I've never dealt with the torsion bar of the trunk lid before. Did you sandblast it in place? Take it off and strip it?? The picture of the trunk up triggered the question. Nice progress

Headliner install was fine. I understand how some say it's a "hassle" but we had no issues and it really turned out great. I can't get a good picture for some reason but it really looks good. Plus it's only $34.99 from NPD. I recommend NOT installing it yourself, get a friend or ask your wife to help. We watched these youtube videos and pretty much followed what he did except we used different adhesive (IPS 1829) and binder clips instead of windlace.
