Bent, your work is incredible. Post pics of the "woody" when you can. My buddy's grandfather redid one probably 20 years ago and it came out great. He did all the wood and his best friend did all the wood. Cool project. I totally agree with the lessons too, much appreciated.

Hi Bent, truly awesome work. I spent 12 yrs working in sheet metal shops and I can do a LOT of metal work, but you sir, put me to shame. True talent.
Please keep this thread going. I don't care if the next car is a mustang or not, we can all learn from your work. Do you think you could post a series of pics showing one piece from flat metal to finished piece? I know its a lot to ask but yopu have a host of willing students lurking here.

As for this thread, I'd love to keep it going as long as people are interested. As you say, I'm drifting from the Mustang topic. But I too think it applies to building cars in general. Especially if you get into an area where you have to tweak a part that ain't right or you have to make a new piece all together.
A part from flat to shaped to finished? ... I did that, a little bit already. But every part is different, I would be glad to do another one.
HA! You guys get me fired up! I'll post some more soon.

Woody?!? Did some one say Woody? Funny you should mention that. I got one on the some day list. Maybe about six or seven cars down the list.

Not the pretty one, the one in the back ground.

So I'm trying to think of something I could make that you guys might find interesting. Any ideas?
Oh, the woody is not the wood framed '27. That's another car.
And I don't own any of them. Just want to clarify that before I get anyone mad again.

This is a '27 Essex Boat tail like the one I'll be helping do the wood frame on, I hope soon.

This is the actual one I worked on. Remade the bottom four or so inches, all the way around. It was rusted out, including the floor, which was half wood and half metal. I love this car. It's like a sports car but from 1927.

Ain't she purdy?!?! I might be in love. But don't tell the wife.
