Default Drum to disc 67 mustang

I would like to use 67 mustang 11 inch drilled slotted rotors and a large piston caliper.
The big GM caliper used on 1970 camaro has 2.94" piston and large surface area pads; I discovered from another post.
I haven't found any ford 11" compatible calipers that large.
I plan to keep 15" AR wheels.
Looks like I will have to make my own bracket for that setup.

Seems to me that ford 11" calipers/pads not on par with 1970 camaro 11" caliper/pads.

Any ideas for converting 67 to disc w/o changing spindles, 15" wheel compliant, aprox 2.94" or equivalent strength calipers?

The stock 67 K/H disc brakes attached to the stock drum spindles, and used an 11" rotor that would even fit inside 14" wheels, with a 4-piston K/H caliper, which I suspect totals more than the GM single piston you describe.

That is one I am considering. I would like to find pad surface area and piston surface area. It is a bit pricey.

Default rear disc 67 mustang 8" rear

If I put discs on the rear as well, I think I could avoid the proportioning valve.
Hopefully emergency brake hook up and bracket not too complicated.
Any thoughts on which rear discs would work on 11" rotors?

You're contemplating a $500 brake conversion to avoid installing a $50 valve?

I'm in love. This kit is perfect for me. 15" wheels ok. 1.945" x 4 pistons (great power). 1.25" x 12" rotors (great cooling). Don't have to change spindles. Only issue is price point. System is based on 67 T-Bird. Can use cheaper heavier T-Bird rotors and T-Bird calipers. According to my numbers 67 T-Bird and 67 Mustang disc hubs have 3.25" registers. I think 67 must drum hub is 2.43" register. I must double check data.

I am just dreading installation of the proportioning valve for no valid reason.

Thanks for telling me the GM big single pistons suck.
That will help ease the pain of paying 10x the price for 4 piston calipers.

Its just a 86 chevy short bed i replaced almost the whole braking system it still stopped slower then my mustang did with drums. When i changed to the wilwood calipers its night and day.I know the price for oem disc seems high but wilwoods are higher. But the oem disc was used on everything even the Shelby's they will stop fine. And if you do get drilled rotors get the counter bored ones they won't crack like the normal drilled ones will.
