I am seeing that Summit has the 8000870-01 manual rack for $625 and 8001110-01 for $456 those really really sounds like it may work for my 65 fastback. I kinda like the idea of a manual rack for simplicity etc..

(Whats the difference in these kits?)

My questions are

1. I read here on this forum that they changed a design or have a "new" design that works better or something? Is that this part number or a different one and what changed? (EDIT: See next post)

2. I do plan on a t-5 swap in the future, I'm not going z-bar so I am guessing it will work fine?

3. TURNING RADIUS...is it better with this R&P than my stock manual box? (EDIT:, It is 6" not 7")

4. Ratio, is this about the same as a 16:1 box? (I am also considering a new box) (EDIT, they says bout the same)

Thanks for any help, I did a search but the bit about the update confused me and I have not seen many finished projects that people have posted results on.

OK, after calling Unisteer they told me to get the 8001110-01 updated kit that has a retail of $1049. I told him that Summit had it for $756 and he was like "No way" and I was like "yup" and he was like...well you get the idea. He said that he could not sell it for that, so I went ahead and ordered it from Summit.
I am stoked and cant wait to install it.

What else should I do at the same time? I do need a steering wheel...hmmmm.
