The 351c was just built and is now a 408 with roller cam, roller rockers, hydraulic roller lifters and 4v close chamber heads. After starting the new engine the valve train was slightly noisy = dissassembled and found roller rockers had been toughing the vlv. keepers = removed slight amt. of mat. from roller rockers and marked with permanent marker where mat. had been slightly removed = readjusted rockers by tightening to where push rods just quit turning by hand, plus 1/2turn more adjustment = started engine and still have clicking coming from vlv. train area = removed rockers but have no signs of interferrence now between the rockers and vlv. retainers. But still have that slight vlv train noise. Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be approciated.

What rockers? Some full roller rockers make noise...well, most of them do really. My Crane's make the car sound like a loud sewing machine or a quiet diesel truck. Also, is the rocker geometry correct, and are you running with minimum lifter preload?
