I am restoring a 1965 Mustang Fastback and how some body questions
from the pics above. As you can see they need replacing. Are these items that someone with no welding experience can do or should I have a body shop do it. If a body shop what should I expect to pay ?

The door skin and rear panel can be repaired relatively easier than the rear sections. For the rear frame rail and trunk floor, I would recommend a shop do it, unless you want to get welding practice. I had my rear rail/trunk floor done using my parts for 600 bucks. Not bad. However, I now have a welding outfit and am going to try and do all my rust repair myself(how can I get experience otherwise).

If you want to learn and have the cash to get the welding outfit, practice yourself on some scrap steel, then do it. If not, pay to have it done professionally. Depends on how confident you feel in your abilities.

I would say, that if you have no expirience, and you care about your car, have it done professionally, I've personally done the trunk floor and rear rails in a 66 fastback and it is very time consuming and the aftermarket parts take a little "finesse" to make them fit right. If you want to do it yourself, practice on something else first. Remember too, that you have to cut out all the old crap first and you need some tools for that too, like an air chisel, and spot-weld cutters to do a clean job.
