Check with Texas Mustang out of Waco. It rained like a cow pissing on a rock here in west Texas for the past 3 days, so it is nice and cool. Too bad though. I have to head back to the island on Friday. [:-]

Man, Im looking everywhere and the best I can find is a 3 row for the 67. All other years have plenty of 4 rows, but not the 67 289.

Will a 3 row be a substantial improvement over the 2 row, or should I just save for an aluminum radiator?

Ok, I borrowed a digital thermometer with a wire sensor from my work today. Obviously, I couldnt stick the wire in the coolant itself, but I was able to get a reading off the top of the radiator. It was between 200 and 205, while my temp gauge was pegged at 230-240. Is the top of the radiator an accurate reading for how hot the coolant is? If not, is it more or less than the coolant temp.

Can't you just try a cheap sending unit for giggles? Your thermometer reading is probably lower than actual temp by the way, but who knows by how much.

OK, I ordered a new 3 row radiator, as well as an 2010CFM electric fan.

I should be cool in a week or so.

Best case scenario: New radiator and fan work and keep my 289 cool

Worst case scenario: Blown head gasket causing overheating

You'll be good to go with the 3 row. In fact, most guys prefer them over the 4 row because the whatchamacallits are wider and further apart than the four row, causing a good flow of liquid to get cooled. I only bought a 4 row back when I upgraded because I was young and stoopid. Nah, I've never been young, just stoopid.
