Default Parts shopping fun

We have a local swap meet going on...not too bad. Seems like there are a lot of torn apart Chebbies.

But I had to laugh at some of the stuff. This guy has his junk out there...a couple of trannys and other stuff. I hear a guy mention he is comparing to a "powerglide" to put in his 69 Chebbie. The seller (a real slick guy) says "oh I'll lower the price on the 350 turbo ...its a better tranny and the powerglides aren't worth much"

I came close to walking up to the buyer and saying "he's already a liar...imagine the quality of his transmission"

IF I could find powerglides....I could sell them all day at 600.00 I had two when I had my 65 SS and you couldnt touch that car in the 1/8th and she was IMPRESSIVE in the 1/4 unless you had WAY more hp than my 350hp..that tranny was SNAPPY QUICK!!! I sold one of them for 800.00!

I remember when the Powerglide was the transmission of choice for a lot of top drag racers. There were plenty of Turbo 350 and 400 transmissions available, too, but not popular.
