torque converter recommendation

Default torque converter recommendation

can someone recommend a torque converter for this application?

1966 289 v8 4v, bored .40, edelbrock 500, crane 260 cam, c4 transmission w/ transpak 24 spline input shaft w/ 10.5" bolt pattern for torque converter, hooker competition headers, roller rockers, everything else is stock

or any advice on some options? thanks.

Find one with about 2000-2400 rpm stall depending on cam specs and rear end ratio...260 still seem on the mild side.

any brand in particular that would have what i need? i saw promotive makes one but its like 2500 stall. is it hard to find a converter for a 24 spline input shaft and 10.5" bolt pattern?

What ever type you buy don't buy a cheap one. You will also want to add an external transmission cooler because the extra slippage in a higher stall converter causes more heat.

so where can i get a torque converter for a c4 with 24 spline input shaft and stall speed of 2000-2400? i havent had any luck finding one and want the converter to best match my engine. i've already got the external trans fluid cooler.
