Default 289 vs 351w vs mild built 351w

cant deside what to do.

the mustang's got a rebuilt 289 but has a spun bearing,

I been thinking of taking the motor out of my bronco and putting it in the mustang and put a stockish 351w back in.

or put rebuild the stock 351w and put it in or just rebuild the 289 with a bigger cam.

cus the 289 just dose not hit my fun button.

Then turn it into a 347, TFS FAC 190 heads, custom cam, RPM or Vic Jr intake, full exhaust and the other crap, you can make 400rwhp and you car will scare the **** out of you on the street.

Rather than building a 351W I would go with a stroker kit in the 302. It will fit perfectly and there are a lot of accesories that will bolt on. If you go with the 351W a lot of the accesories that fit the 302 won't fit in the cramped space.

A spun bearing requires a complete tear down, cut the crank, and resize the big end of that bearing. But, it usually does not require much more than that. If you catch it soon enough, you won't even ruin the oil pump or lifters; just disassemble and clean. That means you don't need to spend big bux on new crank, rods, and pistons, new heads, etc.

I would rebuild the current 289, and then add a blower.

i would rebuild the 289 and throw in a mild cam, or do a stroker 347 as stated above most of the accesseries for the 351 wont look right in the old school mustang, but its actually what all you want to do and how much money you have to make it work within your budget

Go with a 347 stroker like the guys have suggested. Your car id so light that thing will scream.
The 351 will be too tight and a bitch to work on and you'll have to get custom made headers for it.
The only way to go with the 351 is if you take out the shock towers $$$$$$$.
