I did not go that route on my '67. But always thought the idea of using a remote CD changer but stock looking radio the best looking option.

Can anyone say "short throw shifter"

I just came back from CES and theres a company making add on steering wheel button to control a aftermarket stereo.I think im going to see if we can make our own version. This way you could put the radio where ever you want and have volume, source and seek from the steering wheel

i think iv decided on what to do, im just gonna buy a underdash mount and mount it in the glove box by screwing or bolting it on to the glove box liner. ill throw up some pics in a couple days when i get everything for it. thanks for the ideas, very helpful

mine is mounted to the underside of the dash using a cb radio mount, that way you dont have to chop up your dash, and you still have semi-modern tunes, plus im a cd type of guy, good luck with the glove box, ive heard that can be a P.I.T.A.

I am planning on using an Alpine X-305S for my head unit. Car is no where near original so I am planning to put it in the dash.

The glove box liner is just cardboard, and I don't really think that it will like supporting a stereo.
