Default Glove Box Emblem

Has anyone tried replacing their glove box emblem on the 1965-66 mustangs? I've read a few things regarding JB weld, epoxy, or some kind of speed nut/fastener. But it looks like the emblem on my old glove box was pressed into place. This also looks to be the preferred method regarding the new one.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Gotta pic? I don't know what it looks like when you mean "pressed into place". Sorry

On my 65 it appears that the glove box emblem has a rivet on the back, but I'm not sure. I got a new one to replace it, but couldn't figure out how to remove it. I ended up just cleaning and repainting the tri bars.

That appears to be case with mine. I would do the same, but the chrome is severely pitted on my original.

Here is a pic of the old

New

Looks like that green stuff is the backing on an adhesive pad.

I don't think the Scott Drake reproduction one I have has sticky back on it. Are those threaded cylinders for screws or just tabs on the new emblem?

They are "hollow rivet" style pins. A special tool was used, but a centerpunch and a very small hammer can do the job.
