Default 66 Sprint 200

So in my research I have learned that my Mustang is a Sprint 200. Although not truly rare or special I know; but, I was wondering how unique it is to come across one and to have one.

Mine is a Sprint. From what I've read they had trouble getting enough V8 Blocks so they offered the Sprint Package as a dressy upgrade. Spinner hub caps, chrome air cleaner and maybe a few other things.

The Sprint package was a commemoration of the One Millionth Mustang. The package included the 200 cid engine, bodyside pinstripe/quarter ornament delete, unique chrome air cleaner with "Sprint 200" decal, WSW tires with wire wheel covers, and center console. The car was available with pretty much any other option (excluding V8 engine) and any color, although the bulk of them seem to have been Nightmist Blue. I have had coupe and convertible Sprints. The engine itself was not rare, approx 40% of 64-66 Mustangs had a 6-cylinder engine.

All in all I guess its fun to have something semi-unique. I figured they were pretty common finds even these days but I thought I'd see what the community knew.

They also came with a console and a chrome oil breather.

Mine was a Sprint 200 too. I think they also featured rocker moulding, at least mine has them. I'm glad for the quarter ornament delete, fewer holes to fill.

All 66 Mustangs had rocker mouldings, except GT's.

The 66 Sprint is actually pretty unusual. The painted stripe/medallion delete was avaialble on any non-GT Mustang, but pretty rare, as is the Sprint.

The stripe was machine-painted using a wheel, 3/32" wide, applied 1/8" outside the body line.

both my 67 mustangs were 200 sport sprint.
rocker molding.
mustang and horsee on front quarters.
chrome breather w/ sport sprint sticker.
base hub caps.
14" wheels.
no consoles.
engines last forever.
3 spd top loader lasts forever.
pumpkin lasts long time.
exhaust manifolds leak every half decade.
simple to repair.
clutch linkage not made by toyota.
i would have chosen a different name...not exactly the fastest horse in the stable...
