Anyone done Shelby drop on 1971?

Yeah, I was pretty happy when I found it. About 85,000 original miles, all the parts are there. It runs, but as you see it is pretty rough in some systems. It sat for quite a few years without being started, until I bought it.
The hardest part is going to be the electrical system. I call it FrankenStang because of all the extra crap that has been added through the years, and just about every electrical harness has a break and a splice in it. Mechanical it is in fairly good shape.

I found a book titled "Mustang Performance and Handling Guide, 1964-1985". Author is Peter Sessler. in 1967-1970 he talks a lot about the Shelby drop and includes a template for doing it.
For 1971-1973 there is no mention of doing a Shelby drop at all, but lots of other recommendations for sway bars, springs, etc. By inference, Mr. Sessler is also saying not to drop the UCA on a 1971.

I believe ford lowered it for more engine bay room for the 429.They also went to a gm style steering box which is easy to rebuild to a faster ratio.71-73 anything with a 4 barrel stock had staggered shocks for traction. The best info i know is http://429mustangcougarinfo.50megs.com/ If you need a wiring diagram http://www.themustangshop.com/resources.cfm
