Default 351 heads on a 289?

I know the 351 heads can be run on a 289 but I don't know what has to be done to do it right. Long story short I want new heads for my 289 and can't afford the afr heads I want and thinking about going with 351 heads.
I found a pair of 1970 351c heads and need to know what has to be done in order to run these heads. Thanks

Cleveland heads are not just a bolt on. I have never done it but many have. They call it a Cleveor. There is a big difference between the 2V cleaveland and the 4V Cleveland heads. It would be much simpler to go with a Windsor head.

lot of modifications to the heads with respect to water passages and what not plus you need a special intake which is about 400$ then you gotta account for replacing the valves(stock are a 2 piece design and will come apart on you since they are old)

youll have almost as much in the Cleveland head swap as you would to just buy a set of AFR165's

Try corral.net and on this forum in the for sale section, you might be able to find a decent pair of used AFR 165's or TFS TW 170's.

If it's "less expensive" you're after, you can do this for the cost of a set of head gaskets:

289/302 Cylinder Head Port Matching
