how do i connect the parking brake cable to the handle inside the car? does the ball at the end go into something? thanks.

Right near the pulley on the outer black guide tube you will see a square hole. Pull the handle so that the inner P brake tube slides past this point. Guide the ball and cable over the pulley and out through the square hole in the outer tube. gently start pushing in the brake lever and guide the cable into the slot that should be at about the 2:00 position. The ball fits in the "grooved" opening in the inner rod. Can't remember if it snaps in or just fits in. It's been a real long time since I've done one.
When you see the opening in the outer tube and line up the inside tube, it should make sense.

Good luck, if I remember right it takes holding your toung just right, and maybe even a four letter word or two... or maybe I'm just slow.

Tackle is a good word to use. I used the word wrestle while getting mine together. Just be patient, and make sure the kids aren't around when you do it.
