you could get a 5.0 and a transmission from a donor foxbody, i know for sure a 5.0 from an 81 would fit no problem. not 100% sure but im pretty sure you can use an engine from any mustang till 93.

well i can say for sure that i'm going to keep the original engine. question is more if i'll do anything to it aside from the rebuild.
they sure do sell a lot of toys for the 289...

i know right. i have a 289 and cant decide what to do with it lol. i would immediately get headers and a dual exhaust, the stock exhaust manifold is very restrictive and getting headers would add MPG and horsepower not to mention sound alot better.

what kind of carb is on it right now, what kind of choke auto/manual/electric? most likely a autolite 2100 2v auto. if so get yourself a nice holley if you planning on driving it alot or plan on racing it, if its a few times a month ride its up to you, rebuilding a 2100 is really easy and its quite good.

so as promised i've cleared all the treasures off the car (though a tad bit later than expected, but that's the story of life lol). as you can see i wasn't lying, there was in fact a mustang there! and now i know what it feels like to be a bottle of armor-all... so many dirty rags....the horror...

1 here's the front:

2

3

4

5 back seats in excellent condition

6 passenger seat also excellent

7

8

9

10

11

12 these two are the driver's seat, in the worst shape as expected but i suspect i can replace just this single piece of vinyl if i can find the right color. (i work in an upholstry shop you know)

13

14 Rubbermaid's ford mustang floor pad for the win!

15 save gas mileage by allowing passengers to propel you

16

17 inside of trunk, jacking instructions lol

18 i see light through my trunk... ventilation maybe?

19 corrosion on hood, goes straight through. i suspect my dad had something corrosive on the hood at some point.

20 i know what you're thinking... don't worry we'll get to the missing pieces

21 pictures 21-23 are me trying to get a picture of a missing piece buried in the trunk. Air cleaner!

22

23

24 spinners, i count 3

25 extra parts and windshield wipers

26 old radio and old (unbroken) glass. won't be using this glass, it would seem wrong to put in old pitted glass

27 i'm told these are in fact parts for the mustang, frame pieces?

28 fuel injector from 68 mustang? this is what my dad tells me, but who knows really

29 my favorite find the "Cordomatic 900" this'll be the next restoration project

30 attempt to show mileage, 46,000 on the clock but it was almost certainly rolled over once as i have paperwork showing new transmission and differential at 30,000.

31 love this, not really important but the bag for the windshield washer fluid makes me laugh a bit

i'll get pictures up as stuff changes.

one would think this, but it appears to be clean in there despite the crap ontop of the engine. i'd be willing to bet the acorns and whatnot got up there prior to the removal of the manifold
