Default Proform or Holley?

I have a 71 mustang, 302 and am trying to decide what carb to put on it. I'll be putting an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake on. I'm looking at either 600 or 650 cfm. Anyone have any suggestions?

Either will work. The Proforms all come with at least downleg boosters, and have more adjustability than many Holleys, but it depends on which Holley too. Generally the Proform will give you more carb for less money than a Holley.

I've been looking at a Proform 67212 or 67211.

Similar to the Quick Fuel I'm running, but I'm using annular boosters. Proform/Quick Fuel are pretty much the same. QFT designs them, Proform manufactures a lot of the parts.

I liked my Holley HP. I love my Pro Systems built custom Holley HP. Quickfuel looks to have pretty good stuff as well. I know the parts I have purchased from them have been good quality and not just resold stuff like so many carb companies do. Check this link out...you can basically go into the carb building business with all aftermarket or Holley parts.

I asked summit about a ford kickdown for the proform carb and they wrote:

Hello,
The carburetor you mentioned is not available with a Ford kickdown and there is not a kit available to add this on. But attached is a link to a Holley that does have the kickdown and the same features as the Proform carburetor:

And if you call them they can build you a carb that already has the kickdown shaft in it.

Will that work on the Proform carb?

It's the same carb. The Quick Fuel is a higher end version of the Proform, and uses the Proform main body etc.
