65/66 v8/5 lug suspension ID
I found a guy with a gutted 65 5 lug car who is willing to sell the front suspension and steering components to me for very cheap. I currently have a 4 lug set up, and know that I would need to get the spindles, drag link, and pitman arm as each of them is a bit heavier duty than my existing 4 lug components. I'm worried that at some point someone may have just installed the 5 lugs drums etc. on the car, and not all of the components. Is there any easy way to confirm that the rest of the parts are what I'm after? I do plan on looking at mine first, but sometimes that's not always the easiest way.
Thanks,
Scott

What 2+2 said plus,
How old are these components? Are they factory? If so, most will need to be replaced anyway as they'll be worn out. The drag link (center link) has ends that wear, the idler arm wears, the tie rod ends wear, the ball joints wear, the a-arm bushings wear, etc. Unless all this is new, you'll probably need to replace most or all of it. Spindles and pitman arm are probably OK, but the rest you'd be better off contacting a reputable Mustang parts supplier.
Just my $0.02!

I was figuring on new tie rod ends and sleeves. I wasn't thinking that the drag link and idler arms would wear as well. I suppose I should just get the spindles and pitman arm. However we'll probably sell it as a package so I may just take it all and replace if necessary. Hmm, thanks for the thoughts TexasAxMan!
