Default residual valve on a 69 stang bad

So, it's leaking through the weep holes so I assume it's bad. Now, I see kits to rebuild them. Is this a standard 2lb residual?

What are you guys doing, buying aftermarket or rebuilding yours? I have not found anyplace that has rebuilt ones.

I see the info on rebuild instructions but I am thinking a rebuilt one is nice as what if I mess it up.

Thoughts? If I do it, what do I clean it out with, brake cleaner?

Residuals are built into the Master??

If you are seeking advice on the Distribution block as GT has shown, then yes, it needs rebuilding.

No, its the one that is with that distribution block. Small and it holds 2 or 10 lbs back.

The 69 has a barrel shaped residual valve that is about 2 inches long and 3/4 inch around that is right next to the proportioning valve. I would recommend rebuilding it . I don't believe they are availible new. If you mess it up I guess you will need to find a used one.

The brass cylindrical thingy next to the divider block on a 69 is the disc brake proportioning valve. Rebuild it. They are not available new.

Yeah that thingy. Isn't that a residual valve for the rear brakes?

Okay, I hear these called many different things. Isn't this just a residual valve? So it's either rebuild or buy used till it breaks or get an aftermarket, right?

is this 2, 4, or 10 pound residual?

No, that is the Proportioning Valve. It is Much Different that a Residual Valve. Kinda works in reverse as to the Residual---Kinda.

You need the rebuild kit to build it, We have them.

So, the valve in the distribution block is just monitoring the pressure front/back and not proportioning?
