Default What color is the power steering pump on a late '65?

Hi all,
I am painting and cleaning my engine compartment. I took my car to a shop to have the power steering looked at and the first thing they replaced was the power steerin pump and that was not the problem! Now I have a rebuilt one in there and it is not correct. It is for a '67. It's been so long ago I can not remember what color my orginal pump was. Anyone have a '65 with the orginal pump that can help me?
Thanks, Walt

Well, if you are talking about the housing for the power steering pump from a 65 they are semi-gloss black just like all the rest of the parts under the hood of a 65 except for the valve covers and Air cleaner which of course are gold. Here is a pic of one. Same for both the 65 and the 66.

I own a 66 mustang coupe. Mine is blue like the original air filter that was on it.

Yeah, the 66's came with the corporate blue stuff, but the mustang parts suppliers sell the power steering pump housing as semi-gloss black. It could be that you just need to paint the 66's with blue after you get them from the suppliers, but the 65's were black.

The pump picture is correct if your car has A/C the non A/C cars had a straight neck, but I know that's not what we're talking
about here! Semi-Gloss black is correct for 65 and for the 67 pump you have on their now it would be a greenish/blue color that you can buy in
a spray can!

So, with all this banting back and forth, can we all agree that his power steering housing should be semi-gloss black for his 65 engine bay? You guys are incredible with the knowledge you have about these old cars.
