Default T-5 Kit

Anyone have experience with the cable clutch kit from CJ Pony Parts? Literally seems like a bolt on project.

For the most part, but any cable clutch will require drilling of the firewall, at least.

Couldn't you use the existing hole from the original linkage?

I've never seen a cable that could. It doesn't just pass through the firewall, the casing of the cable is attached to it.

There is one kit. I think it's that one or Ron Morris maybe ? It uses the stock hole.

Is a T5 swap compatible with a power brake system as well?

If you have the OEM power brake, you can't use any of the cable setups I have seen, since the cable and the booster are in the same place. Many aftermarket boosters won't work with stock clutch linkage.

I was driving a T5-equipped 65 Mustang yesterday, it had stock clutch linkage.

I've done the cable clutch conversion right at the time that i was upgrading to power brakes. Depending on the kit you buy it is very compatiable and easy to do. My kit came with a reinforced plate that needed to be mounted behind the brake booster. The plate also had a mounting point to where the cable linkage was ment to go. I like it and Haven't had a problem with it since.
Good luck
