OK, basic info is out of the way. I've had several problems with my factory PS over the past couple of weeks. Now, the back story. PS pump failed, so I had it rebuilt. It drove fine for a week then PS cylinder failed, so I got a new one. It drove fine for a day, then PS return line failed, so I replaced both pressure and return lines. I bled the system, cycled it several times lock to lock with the wheels off the ground. Put the car back down, cycled it lock to lock, and it was fine. This morning I try to take it out for a test drive, now it's harder to turn right, than turn left. It's not like manual steering to the right, and power steering to the left. It's maybe about 10 - 15% harder to steer to the right than to the left.
So, the pump is good, the cylinder is new, the hoses are new, the only thing left is the control valve. What do you think? I'm sooo close to getting this car finished, but these steering problems are really slowing down the final leg of this project.
Oh, almost forgot...I DO NOT WANT MANUAL STEERING. So, please don't suggest it. I've driven a car smaller/lighter than my Mustang with manual steering...I don't like it.
I've posted this in another forum and got great responses, but I just want to expand the knowledge/experience base.
