67-70, what backspace 17"
Those of you with 67-70's, what backspace and tire size are you guys running on your wheels? And what's the clearance like?
I'm fixing to get some new wheels and go to 17's(mainly for tire selection). I know the standard is 4.5, but I've seen/read people running 4.75 conservatively, or even 5".
The plan is 17x8 front and 17x9 rear, and the rear wheels I'm looking at are 5.67 bs for 17x9(rear) and the 17x8 for the front is 5.6 BUT my Wilwood hubs put the mounting surface .75 away from centerline of vehicle.....so the 5.6 bs -.75 is actually going to be a 4.85 backspace. Are any of you running 17x9 front, and what backspace and mods?

Mustang Wheel and Tyre Chart

Ok, again.....I've seen all the charts. Thanks for posting what I already knew.
Like I said twice already, and now for the 3rd time....
FOR THOSE OF YOU ACTUALLY RUNNING 17'S UP FRONT.....what width, tire size, backspacing etc are you running. And suspension mods(if any).
I'm curious to see how deep people have gone with backspacing and not had issues. 4.8, 4.9, 5 etc.

Have you not checked out the sticky thread at the top of this forum? This topic has been covered NUMEROUS times.
Haven't posted in a while and have had little time to spend on the car recently. I did throw the wheels on I bought 3 years ago lol. Still need to dial in the stance, have the Ron Morris coil-over kit on the front which makes setting ride height a breeze and will be dropping it next time I'm at the shop. Rear leafs are Global West 5 leafs with 1 inch drop and Del-A-Lum bushings, not sure how much lower I can go in the rear, clearance to the fender lip is tight.
Front 17x8 4.5BS 245/45/17
Rear 17x9 5.5bs 285/40/17

People ran/are running those on the year cars posted so I don't see why you have to keep asking for something when we have already given you the information you need.

I ran an 05 bullett wheel on my 67. The wheel had a 5.96 back space and I had to run a 1.25 spacer to make it work. It was very close to the upper Arm. I won't run that again. Get the right back space to start with.
