For the OP, like your choice in red. We ended up with Caddy XLR red, although you can buy is BC/CC we ended up shooting the 3 stage system because of the color depth. Don't let the paint scare you, this was our first paint job, just buy a great gun (yes even a rookie can tell the difference) and remember you can always "do over".

Several OEM car companies (both foreign and domestic) only use base in the jambs.....

I think that this is a purely economic decision, but I think their contention is that it doesn't need to be as durable, nor does it need UV protection...

As I said, I wouldn't do this on a Mustang, but I have done this on my son's truck (kind of as a test bed) so far so good....
