I was just wondering about the age spread. Looks like we have about as many young guys as us older ones. I think it is really great for the young ones to take up the hobby at such a young age. By the time some of them get to be my age (Oldest fart on here ) Their cars wil be 85 years old. Wow! Do we think a classic will last that long? I guess they will if the parts are still around by then to keep them running.

RE: What age are you?
Just turned 44 in August. I have a 3 year old, Nathan, and he will get this car if it ever gets done. As soon as he's showing signs of wanting to learn about it, I will be a happy DAD. If not, I bought it for a project car, and that's what it has become. It IS my daily driver tho.

I know this is way off-topic, please excuse me.....

WOW! What a beautiful deuce coupe. You just don't see many of those anymore.
[/quote]
Thanks on his behalf.
You don`t see these on every street corner here in NORWAY.
The car has been in Norway since the early 30`s. When my dad bought it in the early 90`s at a swap meet, the only parts left were two rusty framerails and the registration papers. But with all the aftermarket parts, this is really the only things you need. Except time, patience and creativity.
The best thing is that this car gets driven. ALOT! Actually took it to the racetrack last year.
Way fun!! On the straights there weren`t many cars that could keep up (BMW`s, Audi`s and Japaneese sports cars)
So I say: Drive your cars and have fun with them. When you do some work on them, do it right, and they will last "a 100 years".

RE: What age are you?
Sorry Soaring, but you are no longer the oldest. (But you still may be the wisest!)
67 here and a newbie.
My 66 coupe is on it's way here (FL) next week.
GOOD to see so many young people here in the "classic" section.

RE: What age are you?
Dang Homer, you ARE old. We old guys are a dime a dozen with working on Classic/vintage Mustangs, but you are right. We are either dead, or barely breathing. It is a breath of fresh air to see that the younguns are into the restoration process with our cars we grew up with. I remember seeing the first 64 1/2 on the showroom floor in Austin, Texas when I was a college student at UT back when they first came out.
