Default 70 gas tank in a 67

I read somewhere that you could put a gas tank of a 70 mustang on a 67 along with the 70 sending unit to upgrade from a 16 to a 22 gallon tank

Anyone has done this or know if this is true?

Thanks

I put a 69 20 gal tank and sender in my 65. Just had to trim the filler tube to make the bend.

I just did it...check a page back on posts. If fit fine though the filler neck needs to be tweaked to make it work. You gain about 4+ gallons from going from 16 to 22. You also lose the slight indent in the trunk...everything will basically be level.

I suggest getting the kit from CJ pony...its just a bit over $100 and come with everything including the correct gas guage sender.
