What to do, rebuilt engine and empty transmission..
So im about to finish up installing my engine and i thought of a problem, i need to fill my transmission before running the car much right? so i have about 3-4 quarts in it now and i was told you need to start the car and shift it through the gears and adding more oil slowly, so because my engine is rebuilt i need to let it idle at 2-3k for the first 20ish mins, can i run it with only 4 quarts of trans oil in?

Rmode: you want to start it up and vary the speed of the engine for about 20 mins to get the rings to seat etc...make sure to keep and eye on oil pressure and water temps....

If the tranny and t/q was empty, you can bring it up to 8 quarts without worry of overfill.
And yea with a flat tappet cam you will want to do a proper break in for the first 20 min or so.
It seems to me that most trannys I have filled from empty will take near about 12 quarts...
