Winter storage in NH

On my car the exhaust stops before the rear axle and just has a 90 deg turn down pipe. their not to far off the ground. So i put tape over them to prevent mice and other animals from getting into them. Ive only had one time that i had mice get into my exhaust but the car was sitting for a few years in a dirt barn. Dryer sheets are good as someone else said prevents mice and makes your car smell good when you pull it out of storage.

Sorry but I was out at the beach, winter? Oh yea....
When I went away for Iraq (twice) for a year each, I put in stabil, changed the oil and kept it in the garage. That was through the winter in North Carolina, not really like a winter in New England (where I grew up). I had my wife start it once or twice a month just to keep the valve seals oiled.

Have ben storing my car every winter for the last 15 years. Always tried different things. Now this is all I do:
Gas Tank 3/4 full
Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer - 6 oz's
Disconnect Batery-no trickle charger
Cover motor with bath towels to prevent any condensation build-up
Sun visors down
Drier Sheets
Irish Spring soap bars (4 bars)
Car cover

Another trick that an old timer I met swore by to prevent rodentization was to leave everything (trunk, doors and hood) open. He said he tried all the other measures but was still plagued by mice until he exposed all their hiding places to the light of day. Sounds plausible as maybe a last resort.
