C4 tranny leaking from an open tube?
Hi all,
In the middle of restoring my engine compartment. My car has been on blocks for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday I noticed tranny fluid on the floor. I traced it to a small line near the tranny linkage and above it. It is about 6' long. It looks like a cooling line from the rad but they are both hooked up. If anyone has a shop manual for a '65 it shows it on 7-28 fig. 18. It is the tube with the dotted lines running from it. It looks to me like it is supposed to be open. Could it be leaking because I have had my car up on ramps and the tranny fluid is not level and found a way out?
btw-after 4 days of prep work I started painting today. Almost got the engine compartment done. My new 4 barrel intake and carb will go on next weekend. Looks good in fresh semi-gloss black! I found a great de-greaser from NPD. Marine Clean. Good stuff!! Thx, Walt

RE: C4 tranny leaking from an open tube?
Hi,
Nope, no pics. I can barely put my hand on the tube because it is closer to the top of the tranny just above the shift linkage. The shop manual has a good drawing. Thats why I mentioned it.
Thanks again, Walt
