Default Rear suspension choices

So im trying to decide.. For the same amount of money . What is the better choice for a REAR suspension upgrade?

Im already runing a "street or track" coil over suspension in the front of the car.

For the rear i was looking at New leaf springs and a Watts link or something like Heidt's Bolt-In 4 Link Kit.

What do you think ?
Thanks in Advance !

I'm subscribing to this thread. I have a '67 coupe with a full Global West front suspension and am curious about how to improve the rear. I'll be doing some autocross.

My car isn't on the road yet, but very close.

I just finished a truck-arm system in my buddy's '67. He's pretty stoked.

Which is preferable comes down to usage.

The 1970 Boss 302 cars raced by Bud Moore's guys (Parnelli Jones & George Folmer to name a couple) used leafs with a panhard bar. Cheap, light weight and effective.

The four-link is really more about straight lines. Not a favorite unless drag racing is your focus. Even then, Leafs and Cal-Tracs can get you into 8 second territory.

The watts link is slick, but it's heavy, has many parts that wear and require maintenence, and it's expensive.

The canti-levered coil-overs above are neat for road race because they reduce unsprung weight and allow the suspension to react more quickly over changes in the road surface. They can be used over any tpe of link suspension; truck arm, four link, three link, triangulated four link....

I saw them in use on a tight road course and it was very solid! But sooooo expensive.

I like your leafs with cal trac suggestion, cheap and very usable.

It depends a lot on how the car will be used your budget and do you want bolt in or weld in and which rear end do you have now?

On a budget lowering leafs, panhard bar and good shocks (don't skimp here).

Larger budget-torque arm, coil overs(don't skimp here either) with a panhard bar.

The torque arm suspension will have more tuning capability.

My focus is on a street/race autocross ride.

and the kit would have to be bolt in... Unless you guys are planing a trip to SC any time soon?

10 min's from the beach!!!!! Beer & food inc!

the budget has to stay under 2k

351w
tko 500
9in true trac in the mail.
track or street (sport) front suspension
bilstein rear shocks
