coil spring removal

Default coil spring removal

i am faced with a problem. i have a 67 and i am trying to remove the front coil spring does anybody have any tips on how to do it? please help thank you much!!!!

You need to compress the spring by removing the shock and shock cap, then use a coil spring compressor.
At that point you can remove the spring/compressor as one unit.

Just be careful, and use a good quality spring compressor.

What Soaring said.... Be Careful....Very Careful. And make sure you have a good compressor.
I did this on my 72 last fall and it was no day at the beach. Take it slow. If the coil gets loose while it is being compressed it could cause a lot of damage to you or your stang.

Ive undone evry bolt I can what is a coils spring compressor and where can I get one and how much are they?

Auto Zone has them for a small deposit (50 bucks I think).

i just did this today on my 67' also. managed to get the springs out without the compressor. i would really recommend using the compressor as some of the bolts i took out didnt really feel all that safe with the spring still installed. also i broke the spindles taking it apart, which need to be replaced anyways.
