what replacement brake booster for a 1970 mach 1?
I have a 1970 mach 1 mustang with a 351 cleveland and when I bought the car, it was missing the power brake booster/master cylinder. I am going to order a new one but noticed there are two different styles being sold saying they fit 1970 mustangs. Some are traditional looking boosters but there is also the smaller diameter bendix ones that say they are for 1970 models. Which one is right. Other than the diameter of the boosters, it looks like the other difference is the shaft which drops down on the regular shaped ones but looks centered on the bendix one. Anyone know which one is correct for an H code mach 1 mustang that came with power assist disc up front and power assist drums in back? Hoping to order today and don't want to end up with the wrong one and have to send back and go thru the hassle.

If you go to the Auto Parts to buy a Booster, the question will be "A Midland, or a Bendix". Tell them Bendix.
Now when the booster arrives, Make Sure the hole is centered in the push rod as you has stated. See 22's picture
Next for all out there wanting a booster. If the sales person from ANY source states "You can install this booster using your drum brake pedal, Walk away, or hang up. The "will fit" booster is not correct, will cause problems.
The above pertains to all 67-70 Mustangs, NOT the 65 66.

well I did find a bendix booster locally at oreileys. Problem is it doesn't have the ring on the shaft that hooks up to the brake pedal. Think this one would work and maybe pic just doesn't show the ring for attaching to the brake pedal?

Holly Crap--Yes, you are correct.
My Faul, I forgot to mention Cardone will not include the Mounting Bracket--So you are in limbo here.
If you can get one, you are good, if you can;t, you are S.O..L.

Yeah, without the pushrod it's kinda useless. It's missing the mounting plate, too.
You could just get the complete booster from any Drake dealer. Glazier/Nolan calls the 70 booster G03376.
