I just went and looked at them. I plan on running the Mustang to Fear headliner which gives you 2 1/2" extra head room and I am only 5'8"

ya you should not have any problem i used the old tracks so i had to add 3/4 spacers to clear the seats and had to trim the seat plastic so it would not drag the carpet. i think its easier to drill a couple of holes then make plates to adapt new tracks to fit.

and if your 6' or taller dont bother trying to use the 07 seat tracks unless you lower your seat pan.

Question Xargon -

Great updated picture! You could also maybe run a smaller 13" steering wheel? Any other tips or pictures you may have? Can you see any problems with a power driver seat with 65 brackets and not using the 07 ones? Great Mod!

im not using any part of the old tracks they sat to tall for me. i just used the seat frames and put the old tracks on it using some 3/4 spacers the seats i had where not power to begin with so i didnt not have to mess with those. you might check with the guy that used the power seats in his to see how he did it if you're not over 6' you can probably do it.

ya i could use a smaller steering wheel but as i am still using manual steering a bigger wheel makes it a bit easier to steer

So I got my seats today and was able to get the pass. seat bottom off. Not sure about the driver side yet as it is power. Can I configure the 66 seat bracket to work with modern power? Also Xargon what were the length of your bolt you used? I was also lucky and the place gave me the back seat as well. 07' front and back seats all Leather for $300...... nice score! My next question can an 07' rear seat be modified for a 66'? I'd post pics if I knew how!!

if you want to use the seat in your car without modding the seat pan youll have to make a bracket to fit the power seat to the pan. if you are wanting to use the power tracks you wont be using the 66 tracks. the bolts i used to mount the old tracks to the new seat frames was 1 1/2". if you going to use the power driver seat youll probably want to use the new track for the pass seat too so they will be the same height.

to make the 07 rear seat work youll probably have to mod the car to fit it. i think it would be awsome to have a fold down rear seat in my 65

i guess you have a coupe/\ the fastbacks had folddown and they are super heavy i removed mine iirc it weighed almost 90#

ya i have a coupe i think the 07 mustang fold down seats are a lot lighter.

Well today I got the Driver side power seat track off. It is 4" off bottom of seat (See Picture) I don't see how the modern power could work with the 66' seat tracks without mod to the seat riser. The reason I wanted to do this, I feel that with the 07' seat tracks Is to0 close to the headliner. So my plan now is to order 66' seat tracks and modify the manual lever and also go to the FORD dealer and see If I can get 07' plastic side for driver manual in black. Hate buttons that have no function (O.C.D.).

Really hoping I can have a fold down rear seat in a coupe. Ill cross that bridge when I get back there I guess.

I have four questions to Xargon321:

1.Can I run a 1" spacer instead of 3/4" to eliminate cutting the plastic?

2. How hard was it to remove the plastic piece?

3. In the second picture of your post you seem to have the same module and maybe air bag sensor? Did you remove these or just leave them? If so, any tips?

4. Did you still use the carpet/seat spacers for factory 66' seat tracks?

1. you can try 1" if you want i had to trim the plastic 1/2 or so to fit so it would not drag on the carpet it dont look bad at all.

2. the plastic is held in by one screw at the back of the seat a "Christmas tree" style plastic plug and two metal clips that you have to squeeze the tines to get off its not hard if you can get a pair of pliers or you're fingers in them also if you going to get the plastic for the drivers side get the Raise/lower handle cap as well it will fit right into the hole that the lever leaves when taken out ( the pic with the round hole filled in).

3. i removed the all the electronics except the weight sensor it looked like it was fluid filled and i didn't want to mess with it i zip tied it out of the way.

4. my car did not have any spacers between the tracks and the carpet so i didnt use any it slides just fine. just make sure you at a minimum lube up you're old tracks while you have them out makes a world of differnce.
