07 Mustang seats into a 65 Mustang!!

Reviving an old thread...
Big thanks to Xargon321! The photos & instructions were invaluable.
This is a terrific upgrade... perfect fit and feels great!
My old very uncomfortable '66 seats:
New seats from '07 -- comfortable, firm, and supportive:
'07 vs '66:
'07 has about 6.5 inches clearance:
'66 has about 5.5 inches clearance:
Note to Shoppers: I believe 2008 was the first year that side airbags were standard in all Mustang seats. That's why I shopped for '05 - '07 base seats.
Seat Weight: For an apples & apples installed comparison, I weighed both seats with the '66 tracks attached.
'66 seats: 33 lbs/each
'07 seats: 31 lbs/each

I have to also say your posting write up, Xargon321 sure makes me want to do the same to my 1965 Early Mustang Convertible.
I hope Photobucket gets their systems back on track Retired Boomer, because your photos are missing. This is similar to many forums I have been following.
There is a lot of knowledge here. What a good idea!

In retrospect, I probably should've replaced the carpet while the seats were out. But then, I would've also installed new seat belts... the shoulder belt mod... back seat... new trim...
On second thought, glad I just did the seats.
Original old seats 1966 Mustang Fastback.
5.5 inches clearance with original old seat.
'07 Seats I installed in 1966 Mustang Fastback (view from driver side).
'07 Seats I installed in 1966 Mustang Fastback (view from passenger side).
6.5 inches clearance with '07 seats.
