mufflers

I'm in love with my Hushpower mufflers. Noticable idle, smooth cruise tone, and an amazingly unique, very aggressive sound on WOT. Nothing sounds like them. The downside is that they're rather pricey.
Other than that, I like 2+2GT's factory style system for a mild cruiser, or Magnaflows for a more aggressive tone. I absolutely hate typical chambered Flowmasters. Everyone has them, and they're blatty and are prone to droning in the cab. They also suffer from horrible exhaust turbulence issues.

I took the Flowmasters off my 69 and put Magnaflow on. I like the sound much better. You can go to several muffler manufacturing sites and they have sound clips of what the mufflers sound like on a newer model Mustang. Not perfect but close to what it would sound like on your car. I plan on putting Magnaflow eventually on my 77 GMC Sierra Classic Pickup because I enjoy the sound.

In the 70's and 80's we called them "turbo's" (as originally installed on the turbo-ed Chevy Corvairs). Nowadays they're the flow-masters and magna-flows. You can go on the companies sites and listen to the various muffler models. I have the Flow-master model 50 on my 2005 Nissan Frontier
I personally don't recommend glass-paks due to the crackling racket they produce during deceleration. (reminds me of the 40-'s and 50's low-rider chopped cars out here on the west coast- ain't nothing high performance sounding about it!!!)
