I am trying to take my shocks out of the '69, I already took out the bottom part of the backseat so i could put new insulation in, but i cant figure out how to take the back part off, its not a fold down unit. I see once i take the backpart out then I can get to the shocks much easier than trying to reach through the trunk

After you have the bottom out, there are two bolts, one on each side,towards the floor, holding the back in place.

If it's a fastback, you need to remove the trim at the top of the seat and disconnect from the brackets. The seat will then hinge forward just like a fold down seat.
