Default 1965 Mustang Front Brakes

I just purchased a 1965 Mustang Coupe and need to address the front brakes. Originally this was 6 cylinder 200 but is now a 289. The brakes appear to be after market brakes, from a different car, or a kit and the only number available on the caliper is #207.

The calipers are single piston, not the double piston that was stock. It appears as though the suspension parts might be of a different vintage as well. Does anyone have any idea what type of brakes these might be?

I have pictures but am not sure if those can be posted or how to post them.

Without pictures it is going to be hard to tell. If it needs brake pads a good parts guy should be able to match them up. You would have to go to a real parts store like NAPA and look for the oldest guy there. BTW The original brakes were 4 piston.

How fortunate I presented you an opportunity to release your inner jerk which you apparently strive to do over long periods of time. Had you read the last part you would have noted I don't know how to post pictures. In the future, please don't respond if you don't have anything of value.

Woa, easy there. You post that you don't know where the brakes are from, you don't post pics and you expect people to give you something of "value". You say it was an I6 but now a 289, were the spindles upgraded to those found on a v8 or did someone do a Granada swap? With the wealth of information you provided

If you want to know how to post pics just ask. Its really easy, just setup an account on something like photobucket and use the img link that it provides. Nice second post, way to make friends.

This is an example of how chat and forums can go wrong. Riddlers could not discern my jovial attitude and disposition as I typed my first post in this thread. While he took it as an assault, that was far from my intent. For that I am sorry, but misunderstandings are par for the course here.

Riddlers, in the box at the bottom of the page is the place where you respond to posts. If you look at the icons along the top, you'll notice one that looks like a landscape picture. If you click that, it will give you the dialog box for inserting pics. Hope you post some soon so we can assist you in your quest for answers.

Welcome to the Forum.

I got that you were using some humor in there but the OP did not. Thanks for trying to make it right and I hope he comes back for some answers. I'm not sure if he can post pictures since he is a new guy.

It never even occurred to me that this was anything other than a good natured rib. I guess he was just a little upset about his brake issues. I hope you don't mind if I borrow your banner for use on other forums.
