fuel line questions

Default fuel line questions

so i am running fuel lines but a friend of mine is not running return lines he has the same motor. a 302 with a carburetor. has anybody done this? if so how much psi you run with a electric pump or did you use the mechanical. and is it to rich to run the mechanical with no return?

most street pumps are about 5-7 psi which a carb will only need max 7 psi or it will ift the needle from the seat..If its a "race" type pump, they might have a higher output like a electric pump.At that point you would use a regulator.Theres 2 types, a "dead head" which does not return fuel,heat up the fuel and puts stress on the pump or a return style that returns the unused fuel to the tank, so a "cool" supply of fuel is always pumped forward.
