Default I need help wiring an electric fan...

I just got an electric fan to put on the front of my radiator. This fan didn't come with any instructions and I've never done this before. Does anyone know how to do this? Or, can you send me a link with basic instructions please. It has a plug on it, but my car is a 67, I don't know what I would plug it into??

Here's a link to the fan, it's the 2116: http://www.csiaccessories.com/electricfans.html

Thanks for the help!

Looks like a just a basic 2 wire fan. You can wire it 2 ways, one through a switch or 2 through a fan controller.

I had a fan like that years ago and just ran it thorugh a relay to 25A manual switch so i could turn it on or off.I dont trust the temp probes.

One wore is ground and one wire will go to a 12V constant source( or key switched, up to you)

You can cut the plug off or use the female connectors to plug into the terminals. My recommendation is to use a switch, just dont forget to turn it on.
You will get a three pole switch. one is switched 12V power source that you can pull from the fuse box under the dash, the second should be running to the fan itself. The third should be the ground for the switch. The fan should have two wires. one goes to the switch, one gets grounded.
I hope this helps.

I used a derale 16749 controller.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16749/ It has a screw in probe and you can set the temp it comes on at..I have this setup on two of my vehicles and it works great..It also has a manual overide setup if you want to switch it on manually..On my mustang I removed the old AC system so I have the manual over ride wired to the power wire for the AC compressor..If I want to manually turn on the fan I just use the original AC switch inside the car to activate the fan..

I use the Derale switch as well. I run the temp probe to the water neck and the switch to the dash. I've used the same switch in all my racecars and never have a problem with it.
