67 gt500 clone????? HELP
Hi I am new to the forum and my first ford.I bought a 67 gt500 clone from ca and I live in pa(this was my first mistake).Car showed up on sat morn, looks good.Get in fire it up and notice a weird vibration.Drive it around the block and get on it alittle and the car floods/dies and cant get it to re-fire. Totally flooded out fuel pooling up on manifold. So back to the first problem the motor is a 428pi with dual quads in shelby trim, 4speed. The vibration happens at idle and while moving(feels like your on an old harley). My question is could it be the wrong harmonic balancer or flywheel?? It has all new mounts and I cant see anything resonating vibration through the car. I tried to contact the seller of the car for some more info on the so called fresh motor but he disappeared like Casper!!! PLEASE HELP Thanks Mike

Hi,
Gas flooding on the manifold (not a good thing) and a rough idle would suggest to me that you have at least one float on one of your Holley's that is stuck, punctured or very poorly adjusted. I would look at both of them first.

Also, if it's a true 60's era 428 PI then it should have no balancer, the 428 cranks were internally balanced. It should just have a light weight pulley. Click on my facebook link down below, I just tore down a 428 and posted a few pictures of the crank and pulley.
