Default carb mounting question

i bought a autolite 1100 off ebay for 200 bucks the bottom opening where the butterfly valve is 1 5/8 wide and the actual base is 3 3/4 wide, i have a old carb bottom that came off the car and its 1 3/8 where the butterfly valve is and a total of 3 1/2 wide can anyone tell me what i need to do or what the new carb i bought goes to, this is the only thing holding my car up from being on the road

I foresee a potential of lots of problems with that new carb.
Does it happen to have a number tag on it?

Well you bought the right carb for your car. Was an 1100 on there before?

The previous owner could have swapped it for something else.

Did you try and mount the new carb. Do the mounting holes line up?

Also forgot to mention. Is the original head/engine in the car or was it swapped for a late 70's ?

it was orginally a autolite 1100 on there til it was stolen. the motor is original to the car.
ive mounted it but the throttle linkage wont mount up to the carb. i had the car started with it but it leaks around the gasket and is stuck wide open

You can buy the right sized studs at any auto parts store.

Not sure on the length since I don't run that head/carb combo any more. But you can just remove the studs and use bolts instead. Does the carb seat with the studs removed?
