founf 5.0+T5 need advice
Found a local guy selling a 87 5.0 HO and matching T5 with all the goodies, for 550$, I have a 67 with a 289 and C4, i know i need to do a couple things to the engine, like changing the balance, relocating the dipstick, and changing the oil pan, but what should i do in terms of a clutch kit?, does anyone make clutch pedal mounting stuff that includes the driveshaft end?

You don't have to change the balance. The driveshaft you have now will work, that is what they use for the conversion kits. Since you have everything you are better off running either a cable clutch or hydraulic setup. As for the pedal assembly I'm not sure anyone makes that, you will probably just have to find it on ebay.

You just need to relocate the dipstick to the front timing cover plug the back hole and put your 289 oil pan on the 5.0. If you run the EFI you will need the computer or just put your carb and intake on the top end. Either way.. if the engine was in good shape its well worth the money even just to part and sell.

You can find a clutch pedal and brake pedal used online but if your going to use a cable linkage your going to need a pedal quadrant and a firewall adjusting nut, steeda makes a nice kit for that. That 5.0 is going to need an electric fuel pump as well

put a wooden dowl in the late model dipstick hole...it will swell shut and provide a tight seal after getting soaked in oil...like said above youll need your front sump pan, pickup, timing cover and dipstick tube transferred over...if you want to run a manual fuel pump you will need the eccentric and the stud from the eccentric key out of your stock cam...if you run electric you can run without it...also you will need a new distributor gear put on your stock distributor so it will be compatible with the roller cam..
while you have it all apart make sure to install a new rear main seal etc...
numerous companies can hook you up with the clutch pedals and all the swap parts you need

My wife has a 68' that has a 306 that was built up from a 92' GT 5.0 block and a FRPP T5 behind it. The conversion was done before we bought the car.
We are having a lot of problems with the clutch cable right now and even with a large, thick aluminum brace the firewall flex's a lot and the pedal feel is rock hard. Instead of spending $200+ on another cable kit we are going with a Hydrolic kit, one with the external cylinder that mounts to the side of the bell housing to pull on the clutch fork directly.
Our cable is also always getting burnt on the Super Comp Long tube headers.
For us, the cable kit just doesnt work well.
