Car feels slugish
My stang sat in the garage for 6 months due to some heavy repairs that I needed done to it. Now that it's back and running again,
the car feels soo slugish!! I hate it, it doesnt sound like it's misfiring or anything but, when you slam your foot on the pedal it feels like it struggles a bit to take off. I've already changed the oil and cleaned out the plugs but, i dont know what else i can check off the top of my head. Oh! I even did a compression test and all cylinders are reading good, over 100psi.
any ideas??

Have you used new fuel or the same six month old fuel thats been in the tank? Maybe also, run some of that fuel cleaner through your system. Check your carb out, make sure that all of the parts move freely and didn't rust or freeze up after 6 months of no useage. If that doesn't work, or you're bored. Check the psi on your fuel pump, should be about 6psi for a mechanical pump. Check your air and fuel filters. 6 months on an old filter will cause a old filter to be older.... If that doesn't fix it then take apart your carb and make sure that none of the passages are cloged. Buy a rebuild kit and change out the rubber and cork parts.
Side items, check to make sure all of your plug wires are connected, mine pop off from time to time causing my 8 cylinder to run on 7 cylinders. Make sure that a plug wire (s) didn't melt onto a header. Do a vacum check at like 2k rpm. Should be around 12ish. Also, check out your vacum hoses, if you have any.
I went from order of easiest to hardest. The last thing that you want to do is rebuild your carb. Keep us up to date on whats up. I have issues like this once a year and have to go down a list to narrow it down before I find it and fix it.

Thanks Musnicki for some of those tips. I have already checked the plugs, ran a fuel cleaner additive and ran new gas in it already. I have no experience rebuilting a carburator though but, maybe this weekend i can take it out and see if i can't clean the throttle body on it. I'll keep you posted on that.

So I finally got around to working on my car again. So far I've cleaned out the fuel line, hit the carb with carb cleaner and added a second fuel filter to the lines. So, now I have one before the carb and a second one after the gas tank, I can already notice a difference but I'm about to put it to the test right now. I'm headed to the beach so hopefully she performs well on the drive there. wish me luck!
