73 Mach 1 wheel fitment
Asking for a friend of mine (the link in the FAQ is dead)
His 73 mach 1 wont pass inspection due to the wheels on it- the mid-70s era AR wheels use a bolton method that is no longer accepted. It hasnt been an issur as it was sitting since 1993. Now he is looking for a set of wheels for the car, so that he can drive it for the year without spending a lot of $$ on new wheels/tires. What wheels off of modern-era cars will fit? I know that new mustang wheels will fit, but need spacers. can anyone give me a crash course on this?

some ranger/explorer wheels will probably fit to get him passed...
94-04 mustang wheels need a 1 inch adapter front half inch spacer in the rear...s197 need about 1.5 inch adapters all the way around

I know right,Kentucky only does it if you bring a car from a different state no matter the year they inspection it,But few of my old cars before i bought them had sat for years and they never asked for a inspection.

For older cars, just visual- leaks, badly rusted out, etc. In his case the 70s AR wheels used a bolt-on method that is now considered 'unsafe', even if he changes the vintage 1989 tires!
spacers are allowed, as long as their are hubcentric. or at least ive never had a problem.
