Default Correct fuel filter for 66' 289 2v?

I went to Autozone for a new fuel filter yesterday. They gave me an FF2201/G15. It's longer and has a larger thread size then the filter that was on the car when I bought it, so it doesn't fit. The numbers have worn off the bottom filter.

Does this mean I do not have an Autolite 2100? It's definitely a 2v and looks like all the pictures of Autolite 2100's that I have seen. Is there a way to identify the carb from certain markings/numbers?

I'll try and post a follow-up with pic of filters. . .as soon as I figure out how to do it on this forum.

Doesn't look like I'm allowed to attach photos, so uploaded it into "my garage". New filter on left, old one on right. Here's the link:

Here's a couple of sites that will help in identifying your carburetor:

There were two filters in 66. Early carburetors still had the inverted flare inlet, like the 65, which had the steel line directly connected to the carb. Later 66 had a pipe thread.

Your link didn't show.

Thanks. The filter that came with the car is about half the length of either of those and pipe thread. The one Autozone gave me is the top one in your pic and was too large to screw into the carb. I did find another one at Autozone just by eyeballing the thread size and it looks just like your bottom pic. I installed it and car runs just fine.

Random question. . .how come I cannot attach pics? There is a "posting rules" box on the bottom left of my screen that says "You may not post attachments".

Merc - thanks. It's definitely a 2100.
