Default Leaky steering control valve- replace?

Just got the power steering to work but now the control valve leaks like a sieve. How about a kit for $44, would this take care of it or do we need a new valve assembly? Thanks.

You can try the kit but it's kind of a crap shoot. Disassemble your valve and look for pitting in the metal. If yours still looks good then you "might" be able to get away with the kit. Also know that buying new/rebuilt can be a pain too, I had to go through 3 before I found one that didn't leak. Atleast with buying new/rebuilt I could return the item for exchange. I had that front end apart so many times I could do it in minutes. Good luck.

If the power steering hasn't been working for a long period of time, or is all old, you had better replace/rebuild ALL. New hoses, as well.

To replace one piece at a time will be not good. You'll get one piece fixed to find another, then another.

These systems work great, DO NOT LEAK when they are done correctly as I stated above.

The moaners about these systems are the ones that try to piece it together, having poor mechanical skills, then blame the system when it leaks.
