Question What are these hinges on 65 fastback?

Hi,

I have a 65 fastback roof in my driveway and noticed these hinges circled in red. What are these used for?

I think they are the ones for the trap door between the trunk and behind the rear seat.

Is that water standing there?

You know there is no paint under those roofs right?

When you say there is no paint, do you mean they do not paint them? They have to right? Otherwise it would rust? I just got the roof and it rained the last few days. There was already rust on the roof. I'm about to get it in my garage and then use some rust remover on it. So when I get the rust off I can paint it right? There is a headliner on fastbacks so what do you mean?

Thanks,

Warren

Ford assembled these cars with many of the parts not galvanized, primed or painted. They are raw steel. The roof assembly is like that. You have allowed water in between the panels where you can't paint. It's not like you ruined it but steps should be taken to remove the roof from exposure to water.

Like I said I plan to get the roof in my garage this weekend. I'm going to get some run remover gel that i can get up in the roof everywhere. then when it's rust free I'm going to paint it with primer. No one will see if it's painted or not with the headliner. What do you think?

Thanks,

Warren

Dude, you popup every now and then asking. I sent that thing back long ago and never saw it again. I think it's a little late to look into tracking now. They probably made a reality show to auction off undelivered or lost packages!
