11.7 to 1 sounds like too much for a street car. Are you sure that is your compression ratio?

You will need to tune it on the fuel you plan to or need to run. Change the fuel and the tune will need to change.

I would start be setting timing closer to 0 at idle. I am concerned you will have detonation. Once timed at 0 read the full advance at 3000 rpm. I time my distributors at full advance and let the idle be where it falls. You will need to creep up to the max advance without pinging or risk damaging the engine. More advance makes more ping not less. Ping is the boom happening too soon.

I agree. Sounds like it's too at advanced, especially if it's hard starting. Back it off and tune for full advance at about 3k.

I fixed it! Damn exhaust rocker came loose on one cylinder.
