347 stroker cam selection
Just picked up a 347 roller stroker shortblock with Mahle flat top pistons, eagle rods and Scat crank. This engine will be going in my 65 fastback. I have a brand new set of Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum heads that I plan to use on the shortblock. I need some advice as to what would be a good cam recommendation. The car has a 4 speed Toploader and 3.00 rear end gears. I want to keep it very streetable as it goes to car shows about every weekend of the summer and frequently sees interstate travel of 70 mph. I plan to use a Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake with a 650 cfm carb. The car is never reved above 6500 rpms. What would be a nice streetable hydraulic roller cam for this set up that would also allow me adequate piston to valve clearance?

+1 for the gears. To get a little closer to your engines true potential, go with a custom cam builder and, at least, a 3.25 rear. The custom builder can help with dialing in closer to what you're seeking.
Good Luck!

I have a custom cam in my 349 but no clue where it came from. I have alot of friends that swear by FTI http://www.flowtechinduction.com/. I dont like recommending something i have never tried, but i take their word for it.

i have a trickflow stage 2 in my car right now and it seem's mild in the 347.revs well to 6500 and drive's fine with a 5 speed and 3.70 gears cruzing at 2000 to 2500 rpm's down the highway depending on how i'm driving.when i pull it out i'm going to a anderson N91 cam with victor jr's.

in my opinion, you won't really get a "custom" cam from FTI for what you're building. what you'll probably get is FTI choosing a cam from one in their lineup.
i'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. it's just not what i really think of as "custom".
